Faculty of Management

The Faculty of Management at KIU is focused upon grooming, empowering, and guiding management graduates to possess the right attitude, leadership, and cooperativeness. A KIU management graduate will be smart in cognition, taking responsibility in serving tomorrow’s businesses with knowledge, skills, and research abilities.

The faculty of Management has structured its educational setting with the objective of giving the students the opportunity to learn from distinguished and skillful professors, lecturers, mentors and business industry experts, who are dedicated in helping them to achieve their goals.

The faculty aims to create graduates with outstanding personalities who will be accounting, marketing and human resource professionals in the respective fields of specialization. The degree program offered by our faculty in accounting, marketing and human resources are approved by Ministry of Higher Education and recognized by University Grant Commission in Sri Lanka.

Department of Human Resource

The Department of Human Resource Management aims to produce graduates who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and best practices in the field of HRM. Further, the department is committed in inculcating values that would produce highly employable HRM graduates who possess both clarity and commitment who can successfully cater to the human capital needs of both the private and public sectors. We value the competitive strengths of academic leadership, expertise, research and industry exposure when educating students as HR professionals.

Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing Management is dedicated in producing ethical marketers who will take the forefront in the Marketing Industry, both local and global. The Department aims on providing the students with comprehensive knowledge that would cover the fundamentals as well as the most intricate areas of marketing. The Marketing graduates of the Department of Marketing Management of KIU will be the best professional marketers an organization would require.

Department of Accounting

The Department of Accounting aims at empowering graduates with updated knowledge, skills and technicalities. Accounting undergraduates are facilitated with modern techniques and education, research and soft skill development with our expert academics. The Department has designed its knowledge delivery programme to produce graduates who will perform in leading roles in the finance and accounting sector with a strong ability for critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making.

Department of Decision Science

The Department of Decision Science aims to produce graduates who are equipped with core computational and analytical skills required to meet the challenges of today’s businesses while enhancing their abilities to engage creatively and successfully in a global environment. The Department of Decision Science is currently offering the BM (Hons) in Business Analytics degree. Through the wide spectrum of modules which focus on mathematical, statistical, and computing skills essential for solving complex business issues, we aim to produce graduates who can move beyond the ordinary management and use the power of data to drive smart decisions. We value the competitive strengths of academic leadership, expertise, research, and industry exposure when educating students as future business analysts.

CIMA

CIMA has forged a significant partnership with Faculty of Management KIU, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for aspiring accountants. This collaboration entails a remarkable initiative wherein students pursuing a degree in BM (Hons) Accounting are granted subject exemptions, recognizing the rigorous academic curriculum they’re already undertaking. Additionally, CIMA’s dedication to acknowledging exceptional talent is evident through the introduction of an annual “Gold Medal” award. This prestigious accolade will be bestowed upon the most outstanding student enrolled in the BM (Hons) Accounting program.

CIPM

The KIU has officially established a strategic partnership with Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), aimed at enhancing academic opportunities for students pursuing a degree in BM (Hons) Human Resource at KIU. Through this collaboration, students will benefit from subject exceptions across various courses offered by CIPM, enriching their educational experience. Additionally, an annual “Gold Medal” will be awarded by CIPM to recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of the most outstanding student within the BM (Hons) Human Resource program at KIU. This partnership marks a significant step in fostering academic excellence and professional development within the field of Human Resource management.

The KIU has officially established an industrial partnership with Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company aimed at sponsoring and promoting career opportunities for the students of KIU in the field of Management. This collaborative initiative is dedicated to fostering and endorsing a range of promising career opportunities for KIU students, particularly in the field of Management. The MOU outlines a commitment to provide vocational training programs, valuable internship experiences, and comprehensive career development opportunities for undergraduate students.
