Faculty of Management signs MOU with CIMA

The Faculty of Management, KIU recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to offer exemptions to the students of the Faculty of Management. The MoU was signed by the President of KIU, Dr. Jagath Seneviratne, the honorary Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor Neluka Fernando, the Country Manager, Ms. Zahara Ansary, and the Manager-Markets, Mr. Sivasubramaniam Vithushan of CIMA.

Ms. Nadeeka Ranadeva (Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Dr.S.C.L Samarasekera (Honorary Dean, Faculty of Management), Ms. Thakshila Dushyanthi (Head of the Department of Accounting), Ms. Lihini Mahavithana (Head of the Department of Human Resource), Ms. Oshadi Perera (Head of the Department of Marketing), and the academic staff of the Faculty of Management were also present for the ceremony. 

The students of KIU with outstanding performance are eligible for the exemptions offered by CIMA. Further, the management accounting skills of the students are enhanced by giving global recognition as the global employers and the passed finalists of the CIMA have a high demand in the current competitive job market. Additionally, CIMA is the pioneer organization for Management Accountants, thus the students of KIU have a great opportunity to join the group of Management Accountants where the wages are above the industry average. This is one of the greatest achievements that KIU has obtained as a leading higher education partner in Sri Lankan private sector.
