KIU serves globally and takes a keen interest in the Business Analytics related needs of the local and global markets. The sole aim of KIU is to produce professionals in Business Analytics with knowledge and hands-on experience. This degree programme consists of a high academic caliber incorporated with novel features in the relevant disciplines with hands-on experience, required skills, and research, which are essential requirements of the technology field.

Business Analytics is a “process of transforming data into actions through analysis and insights in the context of organizational decision-making and problem-solving. Business analytics takes a data-driven approach to the world of business, using statistics and data modeling to develop new business insights. This blend of technology and business makes it an ideal study option for anyone with an interest in programming or working with big data. Students will be trained in data analysis and business intelligence tools, so they will be able to do predictive modeling as well.

The curricula of this degree programme have been designed and developed in accordance with national and international standards. BMHons (Business Analytics) degree programme is offered with 120 credits achieving  Level 6  of the Sri Lanka Qualification Framework (SLQF).

The career opportunities for Business Analytics graduates are enormous and  can employ in industries including ICT, utilities, FMCG, production and manufacturing, services, government, banking & finance, BPO, and BPM, and healthcare) and at any functional unit such as finance, marketing, HR, supply chain, manufacturing, and production.
